Yoga at Work
 
YogaTherapy of Virginia Beach offers a variety of classes and workshops for local businesses and their employees.  Services range from relaxation and stress-management sessions, to gentle yoga classes, to fitness oriented workout groups.
 
Sessions are tailored to the unique needs and interests of staff, and are scheduled at times that best fit the workplace schedule.  Classes can be held as a one-time special event or as an ongoing element of employee wellness programs, and are offered in 30 minute, 45 minute, or 1 hour sessions.
 
The stress-management sessions and yoga classes help employees stay focused and clear-headed as they manage their responsibilities and workload throughout the day, in addition to improving overall physical health and well-being.

The types of classes or workshops offered include:
 
Relaxation and stress-management sessions-  These sessions incorportate deep breathing, gentle stretching to release tension build up from seated desk work, self massage, and guided relaxation to help manage the physical and mental effects of everyday stress. Sessions can be held in offices or conference rooms while seated.
 
Gentle yoga classes- Gentle yoga classes focus on stretching to improve flexibility, mobility, range of motion, release muscle tension, and relieve joint and back pain. A variety of seated, supine, and standing poses and movements are offered along with a short final relaxation.
 
Fitness oriented classes- Fitness yoga classes are designed to increase heart rate for weight management, improve muscle strength and tone, core strength, flexibility, and balance.  Breathwork, thorough stretching, and a short final relaxation are also incorporated into the practice.
